The Sunday Face

Hullo! As I was sipping my daily fix of ice English Breakfast this morning, I was suddenly overcome with an urge to; put on your make-up right. now!  Which was weird because I have absolutely no plan of going out today. Autopilot did my body went and when I realized, I was already combing my lashes with my mascara (which I stupidly forgot to add in the picture above).

My base routine is very boring since I basically stay with same products since last year, and, yes, Bobbi Brown dominate my makeup stash, what can I do when they just get along well with my skin? Their cream eye shadow in 01 bone did a really great job in making my eye shadow more vivid, they crease after around 5 hours mark but to be fair, thanks to my oily mine of a face, nothing can stay without creasing on my lids. However, the eye shadow on my brow bone (away from the oiliness) stay for about 10 hours!

Makeup Forever Artist Shadow isn't getting a lot of love lately despite their outstanding performance because I'm trying to use out my TooFaced Natural Eyes Palette but I pulled them out this morning because I want something more simple and understated. Since I'm just staying at home, I keep the lips simple with MAC Cosmo, another thing in my Project Empty. Lastly, I'm still totally smitten with the spiciness that Voyage D'Hermes gives me.

I found myself getting into fragrance lately, what's your favorite perfume as of late?

Some Saturday Hauling

Hullo, happy Saturday! Since the year end sale is still going on, I did some shopping today with my sister. In the past two years, I haven't been buying much clothes or shoes, especially last year where I dedicated almost all my shopping budget for beauty related thing rather than clothing. Thus, my wardrobe was in dire need of some reorganizing and there's no better time to shop than sale season, right?

Clothes that I wore in 2015 were pretty much the same with what I wore in 2014 to the point my mom was telling me to buy new clothes at least once every month. Stradivarius has been my favorite as of late because they seem to always have whatever I want at the moment. Style wise, they fit my taste as well! I remember having serious crush at their fall collection last year and I had to conceal my excitement when I found all of them were on sale for 50% off! I ended up with three button-ups and one tank top. I almost purchase some knits until I realized half clothes I bought last year (3 out of 6) were all knits.

Clothes were not the only things I bought at Stradivarius. They released quiet a lot of fedoras last season and I only managed to snatch 1 last year. I grabbed this red-brown one after seeing they also shaved the price off about 40%. The rings were thrown on impulse after seeing the star and moon details on it (I'm weak to them).

Still, my wardrobe was faring better compared to my shoes; I pretty much only wore three pair of shoes in the last 2 years. What can I say? I'm really picky when it comes to shoes, with my feet size (7-7 1/2) buying shoes is not the easiest thing to do hence my tendency to stick with same shoes for a long time. I've been wearing a pair of flat from Zara practically every single day to the point they're barely presentable (worn, dull, there was even a hole on the side).

Also, my cousin is holding his wedding next month and I'm in serious lack of party-proper shoes (the other shoes I have are boots). VNC wasn't having any particular sale but I remember having a little crush at Mary-jane shoes that Amez bought back in October. Long story short, I hit the store, ask for my size, tried it on, and somehow I ended up with another pair of flat because; CHAMPAGNE and they are so comfortable to wear! The Mary-jane comes with sequined heels, they can be too dressy/fancy for work but nothing that black shirt-skirt combo cannot tone down.

That's all I purchased today. There's actually one more item that I wanted but since it's still full-priced and seeing that I can actually get it with half the price with some little patience, I'm adding this bomber jacket to my wishlist for summer sale.

What was the latest thing you purchase? Have you add anything to your wishlist?

Review: Bobbi Brown Long Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15

Journey to find right foundation can be a hard one, but I'm lucky enough that my 4th attempt led me to the right one for me. Meet Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15! I don't think I will ever try any other foundation after this, that's how much in love I am with this product.

There are so many things I love about this foundation. Bobbi Brown is known for the yellow undertone in her base makeup, and I couldn't ask for more. Mine comes in shade 4.5 Natural Tan which is a great match for my skin. With buildable medium to full coverage, this foundation is incredibly lightweight, I do not feel like I'm wearing anything at all on my skin. It feels like second skin.

Geared toward people with oily skin who has trouble finding a foundation that last long, this one promised a 12 hours of wear. Now, I usually put this on around 6 in the morning, go to the office and leave it around 6 in the afternoon. When I check myself in the mirror 2 hours later when I arrived home, my face is still looking fresh! However, I cannot really vouch if this foundation really last that long without blotting and touch-up in between (I do both at least twice a day). But, considering my super oily skin condition, I think on people with normal skin, this could really stay for 12 hours.

Another thing that I love about this foundation is its finish. It's not exactly glowy or dewy, and it's not matte either. The closest term will be demi-matte. The best way I could come up to explain its finish is; your face with the right amount of moisture. It makes your face looks healthy.

With above factors put into consideration, I'm not sure I can move on from Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation. Its only downside is the hefty price tag it comes with. However, I do not really mind considering the quality I'm getting. This truly diminish my urge to try another foundation.

Have you ever tried any base product from Bobbi Brown? What is your favorite?

Project Empty 2016

One of my goal/resolution this year is to hit pan on everything I purchased last year or year previously (2015 & 2014). I consider my makeup routine boring because I always stay with same products every morning (especially base), but none of them are close to hitting the pain despite of being used on daily basis. I think this is the sole downside of long lasting/pigmented product; needs of reapplication is close to zero thus you can't get use much of it.

To motivate myself, I decided to do this empty/pan project. The goal is simple; to use up the makeups you own instead of letting them sit there in your makeup graveyard.  Here are some products I include in this project;

1. Bobbi Brown Blush in Nectar - 2015
2. Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer - 2015
3. Bobbi Brown Spot Treatment Concealer - 2014
4. Too Faced Shadow Insurance in Candle Light - 2015
5. Benefit Porefessional - 2014
6. Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink - 2014
7. MAC Amplified Lipstick in Cosmo - 2015
8. Jill Stuart Lip Jewel in Coral Kiss - 2015

I will update every month/every time I managed to finish something up! Do you have any product you're trying to empty/use up this month?

"tukimacchi" is now "seleneaddicted"

Looking back, I have always wanted to make a blog centered around beauty around 2012-ish. It was also the year when I got interested in makeup related things despite being a whoa, makeup, no, stay away-person in the previous year. However, I never got around to do it because I think I lack both the confidence and knowledge about it. I tried to do another thing aka. a little bit fashion related and I think since I started this blog in 2013, I was always in a state where I'm actually at lost about what I truly want to do with this blog.

2014 marked my inactivity in blogging sphere. It got more in my shift of interest and busy IRL even though blogging was always in the back of my mind. I got a little hang of it back in 2015 but the platform was Instagram instead of blogspot. From there, I sort of discovered that; hey, I really am into all these beauty thing, aren't I? This was touched briefly in my previous post and I expressed as well I'm trying not to clutter this blog with too much beauty related thing.

But then new year came and it got me thinking about a lot of things. Truth is, I'm just afraid. I'm someone who naturally got bored easily hence my tendency to quickly lost interest. However, 2015 has proven that I'm actually capable of staying constant with one interest; beauty related thing. I thought about it a lot by the end of last year before finally thinking; hell yeah, why not?

And here I am, changing the blog's name and URL once again. Once in The Blue Moon is now Selene Addicted. This is still a 'lifestyle' blog above everything but more centered around beauty. I still do contribution post on blingvoyage of course, and I will be thankful if you can visit both blogs.

So, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay here! Have a nice day!
